About me and my practice

I am a professionally qualified and experienced counsellor working in private practice. I work from an integrative approach, offering my clients what we both feel is best for them and their journey. I have a counselling room in Burton-on-Trent and offer: face to face, online, and telephone sessions.

Outline of offer:

I offer individual recovery plans to everyone that I work with. Although all stories of addiction have many similarities. We are all individuals and our recovery needs to be tailored with this in mind. Drawing on tools and techniques from a number of therapeutic approaches to find what works best is an integral part of what I offer. A balance of helping with understanding of addiction and possible contributing factors, coupled with finding effective solutions in the here and now that are both practical and easy to apply on a daily basis.

I bring to my practice both personal experience and first class counsellor training spanning over 10 years. I spent 5 years working as an addictions therapist in one of the UKs top residential addiction rehabilitation centres. During this time I gained a wealth of knowledge, and an in depth understanding of addiction process and progression, from both academic and practice based perspectives which allowed me to run community workshops and ultimately create my private practice, your safe space. I have also spent 4 years working in NHS IAPT services, working with common mental health disorders out in the community we live in.
