About me and my practice

Paula is currently the Head of Therapeutic Services with The Abbeycare Group, responsible for the design and delivery of the therapeutic programme across two addiction treatment clinics in Scotland and Gloucester. Prior to this, as Programme Director with The Cabin, she successfully designed and created Asia-Pacific regions first gender-responsive trauma-informed treatment programme for women. She has over 20 years’ experience in addiction treatment and behavioral healthcare in Ireland, the UK and S.E.Asia.

Paula is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS) and is currently undertaking a further BPS accredited MSc in the Psychology of Mental Health and Wellbeing, to support the design of therapeutic interventions for both clients and professionals in the addiction treatment field, impacted by COVID-19. She is trained as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with further CPD in Advanced training for trauma treatment for complex PTSD, with a specific interest in Post Traumatic Growth the drawing of wisdom and resiliency from lived experience.

Outline of offer:

Paula works to actively promote wellbeing as a sustainable resiliency factor and supports people to source the strengths and qualities that can be transferred into individualised skills sets. She is informed by scientific research, evidence-based models of therapeutic care, and the lived experiences of people. She works with individuals, groups of specific interests, industry professionals and allied health care organisations. She provides group facilitation, individual and organisational consultancy, clinical supervision, and public speaking.
