Advanced Practitioner Irena Soper

About me and my practice

I hold an BA (Hons) Psychology, and Msc (Merit) In Addiction Psychology and Counselling. I am currently practicing as a Senior Mental Health Practitioner with the Practice Plus Group. My special interest is anxiety, depression, coping, and addiction. More specifically, I am interested in alcohol misuse and obesity (overeating). I am in a process of completing a Diploma in clinical supervision, which I will soon add to the services I offer.

Experience

Over the past 3 years I have been treating anxiety, depression, and addiction. I employ, CBT, person cantered, existential, BSFT, and ACT. I am also a member of BPS and I hold a provisional membership with BABCP. Since 2015 I have been pursuing a part-time PhD in Psychology and Addiction, which keeps my knowledge up to date with the current developments in the field.
