About me and my practice

Lyn Kirby BSc RGN Lyn is a dedicated and patient-focused healthcare professional with 30 years’ experience in Addiction Programme development, Clinical Management, Personal Recovery, and Team Leadership. Lyn obtained her Bachelors Degree in Addiction Management from the University of Kent at Canterbury. Lyn has been extremely fortunate throughout her career and has worked with some of the most renowned professionals in the field of addiction including Dr Max Glatt who set up the very first Addiction Treatment Programme in the UK. Lyn has worked both in the UK and Ireland, is trained in Motivational Interviewing whilst working alongside Tom Barth, Author of Motivational Interviewing, Counselling to Change, Reality Therapy Certified and a Basic Practicum Supervisor with the William Glasser Institute is a member of the Professional Speakers Academy and has vast experience in working with addiction. In her spare time Lyn is a keen sailor and enjoys a sense of adventure. She has crossed the Atlantic multiple times as a Volunteer Nurse/Purser on Tall Ships and on one occasion was involved in a mid - Atlantic rescue of the two-unfortunate crew of a capsized rowing boat who had taken part in a Transatlantic rowing boat race. Most recently Lyn has done several trips to the Peruvian Amazon Jungle again volunteering as a nurse.

LynKwithLife is a Counselling service for those affected with all types of addiction, both substance and behavioural. I am skilled in several other areas such as relationships, abuse, depression, bereavement, inner child and adult child issues. I work with individuals, couples, families and also with individual family members as a way of support.
