Michael has extensive experience working with individuals dependent on drugs or alcohol. 1-1 or group work interventions. Michael offers a private and confidential service to those who are experiencing difficulty with drugs or alcohol and to those who might be affected by someone else’s addiction.

Outline of offer and experience

Michael has more than 15 years experience working in clinical settings with clients on a one-to-one and group basis. Not only does Michael support clients, he can refer to colleagues to ensure that family members get the support they need as poor mental health and active addiction is not isolated to the individual, it impacts those around them as does mental wellbeing and addiction recovery. Michael trained as an advanced group worker at the renowned Institute of Group Analysis in London and is an educator in the field of addiction, conflict management and mental wellbeing.

Michael uses several evidence based methods such as

  • Motivational interviewing
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Person Centred Approach.

The Main model I use is known as ‘The Resonance Factor'. This model has been developed by Janus Solutions and is unique in that it keeps the focus on the substance of choice. The Resonance Factor enables the patient to explore their relationship to their substance of choice and find a way forward based on their increased awareness towards making informed decisions.
