About me and my practice

Paul has a wealth of experience of psychological intervention having worked in various multi-disciplinary work settings including NHS IAPT services (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies). Alcohol and Drug misuse services, renowned private residential rehabs and prison. He has also had a successful private practice in Harley Street and in the Home Counties and now works from Guildford and Godalming in Surrey.

Bereavement, PTSD, OCD, alcohol and drug misuse, addiction, low self-esteem, panic attacks/phobias, stress and health anxiety. Paul works with individuals and couples on either a short term or more open ended basis, with the aim of enabling clients to enhance their lives and to live it more fully.

Paul provides counselling and psychotherapy in Horsham and Guildford and also can provide therapy remotely either by video conference (Zoom Facetime etc) or by phone.

Rates: £80 per Therapeutic hour (50 mins) £100 for couples/families

Outline of offer

Paul Byford is a BACP accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist who draws on his experience and knowledge to provide therapy in a safe, supportive and confidential manner in Guildford at Brighter Spaces. Horsham and Godalming.

Paul believes the therapeutic relationship between the counsellor and the client to be key, built on trust so that a shared open alliance can form. Mental health impacts one in four people in the UK during the course of their lives and a therapeutic intervention can be very beneficial to those who suffer from: depression, anxiety, bereavement, PTSD, OCD, alcohol and drug misuse, addiction, low self-esteem, panic attacks/phobias, stress and health anxiety.
