Are you interested in developing the strategy for treating problem gambling in Scotland?  GambleAware is the leading charity which commissions research, education and treatment aimed at reducing gambling-related harms across Great Britain.  The charity is setting up a Scottish Advisory Panel to advise its trustees on setting priorities for the charity’s activities in Scotland, and would welcome membership of one or more Scotland-based GPs or other health professionals.

The Panel will meet 3 times a year to review existing activity in Scotland, suggest new activity, provide feedback on and input to decisions affecting its work in Scotland.  The panel will also review: needs assessments; treatment provision, volume and quality; and the effectiveness  of awareness and preventative behaviour change campaigns.

The first meeting will be on the afternoon of May 14th in Edinburgh (expenses paid). For further details and to enquire about joining, please click here

For SMMGP members in Wales who may be interested in this field, there is already an equivalent body and GambleAware would welcome contact from those who wish to join it, please click here
